# Orthodox Architecture As Plato's Cave

It is obvious that an Orthodox church building is a cave. Its domes
and curvatures represent that of a cave. Icons represent cave
paintings. The Magian culture.

Then what cave is it?

I think it's Plato's cave in Republic. The allegory of the cave.
We are the prisoners who could see only the shadows. But Christ
has brought the actual light and the actual objects. So he was
crucified like Prometheus who gave humans fire. But he was risen
and ascended. Because he was god who came as a human being.

I guess that's the world view. Though there are other factors like
Theotokos too. And we are the prisoners because of Adam and Eve.

I can argue a lot about this world view. But I end here. It is not
directly related. I don't want to write long.
